What defines time?
Is it the sun going from east to west every day,
or is it the clock ticking from seconds to minutes?
Is it hair turning white as we grow,
or is it candles being blown each year?
Is it moments becoming memories,
or is it memories fading away because the brain shrinks?
For me, time is when I look at you and you look back at me
Because feelings grow and change and fade and die
They don’t last forever, and that’s why they’re worth it
For they give us chances to express the love we have for each other
Time is when the sun goes from east to west every day, and when the clock ticks from seconds to minutes, but in the end of the day, we always come home to the same place
Time is when the hair turns white as we grow, and when the candles are blown each year, but the tenderness in our eyes remain the same when we look at each other
Time is when moments become memories, and memories fade away because the brain shrinks, and we may forget our names, but we feel completely at ease in each other’s presence.
At first, we fall in love with faces and appearances;
it lasts for a few years and we are happy
Then, we fall in love with character and personality;
it lasts for a few more years and we are content
Last, we fall in love with mind and soul;
it lasts so much longer and we are finally at peace.
